We organized a summer school entitled 'Law and Global Issues' for Trisakti University in Jakarta. We designed the programme of the summer school and traveled to Indonesia to teach students contemporary issues in the field of international law.

A symposium on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting was organized that I attended with some colleagues of Utrecht University. A wide range of professionals from a variety of EU Member States attended the symposium and shared their experiences in relation to the elimination of FGM/C in Europe.

In October 2014, I was interviewed by the Dutch Radio about my PhD Research. I explained how many girls and women wordwide run the risk of undergoing the practice, the origins of the practice and why it is so hard to eradicate it.

My first publication for a UN agency is this report for UNFPA entitled 'Implementation of the International and Regional Human Rights Framework for the Elimination of Female Genital Mutilation'. The study was a collaboration with Fordham University and published in 2014.

When I returned back home from my five-month field study in Senegal, I was interviewed by the student magazine of Tilburg University about my experiences. The title of the interview is 'Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting is done out of love', which is a nice summary of my main research findings.
