When I tell people that I have my own business and that I work as an independent consultant, they frequently ask me: Where do you work? Do you work from home? Or do you have an office? Isn't that very lonely? Don't you miss colleagues? I therefore decided to write a blog post about the places where I (have) work(ed).

The European Commission is currently evaluating the Victims' Rights Directive to assess to what extent it has achieved its objectives in EU countries. We took this opportunity to contribute to EU-lawmaking and submitted a joint contribution together with the End FGM EU Network, in which we specifically addressed victims of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting and girls-at-risk.

I contributed to an article in The Dutch Daily News and shared my experiences in relation to the expected increase of girls being cut in Tanzania and Kenya during the Christmas holidays.

Upon invitation of the Dutch national central body for the reporting of and advise on domestic violence and child abuse, I gave a workshop about Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, with a specific focus on the criminalization of the practice in the Netherlands.

Together with four other amazing woman I was invited to talk about Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting in the TV Show Democracy News Live in India. I expressed my concern that the efforts to adopt a law in India against the practice have come to a halt due to COVID-19.
